Stonehill Church Newsletter — August 10, 2012

Dearest Church Family,

Annnnnnd we’re back! The Newsletter update is back after taking a week off because I was tied up with Texas Conference Minister’s meeting most of last week.
By the way, fun fact: Did you know the month of July was the hottest month ever recorded in the lower contiguous United States since we started keeping track back in 1895. According to the report, the average for the whole country was 77.6 degrees which marked the highest temperature average since 1936. Luckily for us here in Austin, the trend was in the reverse. Our summer has been considerably cooler than last year. Camp Mabry recorded 90 days of temperatures over 100 degrees last year. So far this year we’ve had 18. So if you look at it that way, it’s downright chilly outside.. (compared to last year).
Some things to Note:
Education Blessings
On August 18th we’ll be setting aside some time in our service to give a very special tribute to all of the teachers and students in our church. Most everybody will be starting school in the next few weeks and we want to make sure to pray God’s extra special blessings on everybody starting the new school year. So if you have a teacher or a student in your home (or know of one nearby) make sure they join us for the Education Blessing next weekend, August 18th.
Finishing up the Olympics
Tomorrow we’re back in the word discussing the preparation of every successful athlete and it’s parallels for the preparations of every Christian. I’m looking forward to sharing God’s word from the pulpit and I can’t wait to see each and every one of you there.
Pastor Albert
