Stonehill Church Newsletter — September 7, 2012

Dearest Friends,

I just want to give you three quick bullet points:

Spiritual Retreat for 9th and 10th graders
On the weekend of October 11-14 there is planned a very special spiritual retreat for all of our youth that are freshmen or sophomores. This is a Texas Conference event so there will be tons of other seventh-day adventist 9th and 10th graders from across the state of Texas as well. So if you have somebody in your home or if you know somebody else that you would like to sponsor, contact me as soon as possible. We only have 10 spots available so they will fill fast. The cost for the weekend is $120 per student which might seem steep but is actually a pretty good bargain when you consider that it includes transportation,10 meals, a t-shirt, and 3 nights in a lodge (not including the cost to remove my grey hairs after the weekend).

Volleyball is Coming
Don’t forget to get your team together. When you have 8 people send your roster to gina@stonehillchurch.org . We only have 8 slots for teams and they’re filling up fast so look around church tomorrow and put together your best crew of champions, or best goof-offs.. which ever you prefer. It’s going to be a lot of fun.

Bread Needed
Do you have a couple of extra loaves? Our school is trying to keep up some reserves for the times (it happens often) that we have a young person that is not able to bring a lunch. Whenever that happens there’s nothing like a good peanut-butter and jelly sandwich to hit the spot. However, the teachers have told me that their reseves are pretty low. If you’d like to help us out just bring the bread to church and place it in the kitchen marked for the school.

New Believers Sabbath School starts Sept 22
The new believers sabbath school will be for non-adventist and new believers that are looking to study the core fundamentals of the Bible. The class will be taught by myself and will run year round. This is the PERFECT class to bring non adventist visitors that you may want to invite. All the teachings will reflect some of the core principles of the Seventh-day Adventist church and will all be studied in the light of God’s love and grace. Location of class still yet to be determined.

I can’t wait to see each one of you tomorrow as we continue our study in Malachi.

Blessings,

Albert Handal
